Payton Livingston leads Lynx Varsity to 4-2 victory

Payton Livingston powered Lynx Varsity at the plate and on the rubber Tuesday, willing Lynx Varsity to a 4-2 victory over Sioux Falls East. 

Livingston reached base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning. 

Livingston was a workhorse on the mound for Lynx Varsity. Livingston allowed no earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out six over 7 1/3 innings of work. 

Mitchell Hoover helped Lynx Varsity take the lead for good in the eighth inning. Cal Kedik singled to get on base in the eighth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Christian Graber

Lynx Varsity staved off Sioux Falls East as Sioux Falls East was unable to match Lynx Varsity down the stretch.

Sioux Falls East scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Aaron Nesbitt. Still, Sioux Falls East couldn't draw even. 

 

Jeremy Johnson got the win in relief for Lynx Varsity. Johnson pitched two-thirds of an inning and allowed no runs. 

Jake Barkema ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs. 

The bottom of the second saw Lynx Varsity take an early lead, 1-0. A solo blast by Livingston started the inning off. 

Sioux Falls East tied the game in the eighth on a passed ball that scored Nesbitt.
