Opportunities for volunteering include, but are not limited to:
Coaching: While experience playing baseball and coaching youth sports is certainly desired, experience isn’t necessary, just a love for the game and a love for teaching kids in a manner that is built on a foundation of a positive environment, motivation, practice planning, and safety. Register to become a head or assistant coach when you register your child for baseball.
Team Coordinator/Parent: This is a season long commitment. You are the primary liaison between the coaching staff, parents, and league. It will be your job to pass along any important information on games, practices, and other meetings to all of the parents.
Registration Events: Staffing the baseball tables during the fall and spring conferences at all the elementary and middle schools to provide baseball registration information to parents.
Picture Day: A number of volunteers will be needed for each league's scheduled picture day to be able to assist with organizing the players, and handing out additional photo packets to parents.
Uniform and Equipment Hand Out and Collection: Volunteers are needed to assist in handing out equipment to league coaches. At the end of the season volunteer opportunities will be available to help collect the equipment, wash jerseys, repair and inventory equipment.
Tournaments: Tournaments are the #1 fundraiser for the BVBA. Our tournaments help fund all of the different age level's programs and keep our registration fees down. There are currently 4 BVBA Sponsored Tournaments
There are numerous volunteer opportunities available for our tournaments, including, but not limited to:
Spring/Fall Cleanup: Our South Dakota winters wreak havoc on our fields. We always need help cleaning up the park in the spring, hanging the batting cages, painting, pulling weeds, etc. Also in the fall, we need to prepare the parks as best we can for the coming snow.
Website/Graphic Design: The BVBA has several projects that it will be working on throughout the year including updating pages on the website and creating marketing material for a number of the different activities throughout the year. Previous graphic or web design experience is required.
Many other opportunities will be available and can be viewed online through our Dibs system
