Offenses dominate as Lynx Varsity outscores Huron 13-12

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as Lynx Varsity outscored Huron 13-12. 

There were 23 hits, including three extra base hits in the game. 

Lynx Varsity staved off Huron as Huron was unable to match Lynx Varsity down the stretch. 

Huron scored on a groundout by Parker DeJean in the sixth inning, an RBI single by DeJean, a hit by pitch, a wild pitch, and a sacrifice fly by Lake Gogolin in the seventh inning, an error, an RBI single by Tristian Hamilton, and an RBI single by DeJean in the eighth inning, and a single by Tyler Lienand a two-run single by Hamilton in the ninth inning. Unfortunately, Huron wasn't able to take the lead back. 

Calvin Cressman got the win for Lynx Varsity despite allowing six runs over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered eight hits. 

Ricky Struble ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked nine and struck out three. 

The top of the first saw Huron take an early lead, 1-0. A single by Deion Waddle, plating Hamilton started the inning off. 

Lynx Varsity never trailed after scoring three runs in the second on a two-run single by Logan Hanzel

Lynx Varsity added six more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A error scored Logan Hanzel to start the scoring in the inning. 

Lynx Varsity piled on three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. A clutch error scored Ryan Meyer to open the scoring in the frame.
