Brandon Valley Lynx Varsity drops State A championship 4-2 to Sioux Falls Roosevelt despite efforts of Nic Peterson

Nic Peterson did all he could to give Brandon Valley Lynx Varsity a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Sioux Falls Roosevelt, as Brandon Valley Lynx Varsity lost 4-2 in seven innings at Sioux Falls Stadium on Saturday.

It was a good day at the plate for Brandon Valley Lynx Varsity's Peterson. Peterson went 1-3 and scored one run. He singled in the seventh inning.

Connor Grove recorded the win for Sioux Falls Roosevelt. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Grove struck out six, walked one and gave up two hits.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring one run on an RBI single by Josh Baumgart.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt added three more runs in the top of the fifth. A error scored Grove for the inning's first run.

Brandon Valley Lynx Varsity scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut its deficit to two. A groundout by Lucas Lunstra triggered Brandon Valley Lynx Varsity's comeback. Finally, Grove got Jared Mulder to strike out to end the game.
