Inside BVBA

The BVBA is fortunate in that there have been relatively few complaints about the program and its participants, including players, parents and coaching. In order to further show the Association’s resolve that our program be administered in a way that showcases the development of sportsmanship and a positive atmosphere, the BVBA has developed and approved a set of policies relating to the type of behavior we expect from our coaches and parents. The document listed below describes the BVBA’s policies relating to those issues:
  • The BVBA Protest Policy
  • The BVBA Coaches Misbehavior Policy
  • The BVBA Parents Misbehavior Policy
  • The BVBA Coach’s Code of Ethics
  • The BVBA Grievance/Complaint Form
The BVBA asks all parents and coaches to review and be familiar with these policies and the procedures that are used to address them.
We hope that the negative situations outlined in these policies are never exhibited in our program.   Inevitably, however, situations may arise where parents, players, coaches and umpires feel the need to file grievances or complaints to bring issues to the attention of the Association.

To help address these situations, the BVBA has developed a complaint form that is included in this document that can be used to report situations that a participant feels needs to be brought to the Association’s attention.
That form is also included below as a Word document that can be modified and submitted to the Association.

* If you are unable to open up any of the forms that are a PDF file, click here for a free version of Adobe Reader 8.0.

The Brandon Valley Baseball Association is a non-profit organized to administer the youth baseball program for the enjoyment and enrichment of the youth in the Brandon Valley School District.

The goals of the organization are to provide the participants in the program with the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of the rules and concepts of the game of baseball and to play the game in an atmosphere that promotes good sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, game officials and the game of baseball itself.

The BVBA by-laws are provided below to further provide program participants with information about the Association and how it is administered.
These by-laws were modified, amended, restated and adopted in March 2007.

The machine (located on top of the concession stand) detects the potential for lightning within a two mile radius of the complex (the key word here is potential, the machine doesn’t wait until lightning has actually occurred).

The machine will sound a very loud horn blast if it detects the potential for lightning. When this occurs, all games and/or practices needs to be stopped and the city’s request is that everyone goes to their vehicle

A yellow light located on the machine will continue to flash after the horn blast until the machine determines that the potential for lightning has gone away.

Once the machine determines the risk is gone, the light will stop flashing and the horn will sound three two second blasts. Only after this occurs can games / practice be restarted.

The city has signs posted at the complex stating the above. This machine was installed for everyone's protection as the city has had many lightning strikes over the years in and around Aspen Park.

NO GAME is worth the risk of someone being struck by lightning.
