Brandon Valley 13’s and 14’s Baseball

Currently we have 4 options for age 13 and 14 baseball in the BVBA. We have a competitive 14u, 13u Black, 13U Red & 13/14 combined team.  

All three teams compete in competitive leagues. The teams will have paid coaches which will be vetted by our existing coaching staff and the Board of Directors. The teams will be selected by a tryout process when there are more kids signed up than can be fielded on one team. The team coaches along with the High School/Legion Baseball Head Coach will conduct evaluations to determine the final rosters. Every player interested in playing 13u & 14u baseball will be allowed the opportunity to be evaluated. The team will consist of no less than 12 players with a 15 player maximum. The number of players on the final roster will be determined by the coaching staff.

14u & 13u Lynx -
Regular league play will be 10 weeks with two double-headers a week against baseball programs in Eastern South Dakota including Brookings, Harrisburg, Huron, Mitchell, Pierre, Renner, Sioux Falls, Watertown, and Yankton. The 14u Lynx team will compete in the 14u division of tournaments, and the 13u Lynx teams will compete in 13u division tournaments and some 14u tournaments.  The 14u & 13u tournaments are scheduled on most weekends (2 or 3 weekends off), primarily at locations within driving distance, but with the potential for a few overnights.  Total games played for the summer will be somewhere around 50. You can expect your player to have baseball activities (practice, game, or tournament) 5 or 6 days a week during the season. See the BVBA calendar for game schedule. (http://www.brandonvalleybaseball.com) Practice times can be first thing in the morning or under the lights late in the evening and everything in between, depending on the coach’s schedule and field availability. Practices and home games will be at Aspen Park in Brandon. Uniform jerseys will be provided by the BVBA with a $125 deposit check. Each player supply their own pants, hat, socks and belts to complete the uniform. Players will also need the appropriate equipment to play baseball including gloves, bats, helmet, and other equipment as needed.

13 – 14 Combined Red Lynx Team -
The 13/14 combined team is competitive baseball with fewer games and weekends than the 14u & 13u teams. This team will consist of both 13 and 14 year old players. The team has paid coaches which will be vetted by our existing coaching staff and the Board of Directors. New in 2015 we will be a part of a league consisting of a combined team from other Class A towns(Watertown, Brandon, Brookings, Sioux Falls, and Harrisburg, and maybe others). This team will participate in approximately 10 double-headers (likely 5 home and 5 away), the tournaments are scheduled on most weekends (2 or 3 weekends off), primarily at locations within driving distance, but with the potential for a few overnights.  Total games played for the summer will be somewhere around 50. You can expect your player to have baseball activities (practice, game, or tournament) around 5 days a week during the season. See the BVBA calendar for game schedule.
